Our Mission:
The Rhode Island
Silent Camp is an organization whose purpose is to preserve, enhance,
promote significant awareness of, and coordinate educational activities
related to American Sign Language and Deaf Culture. We are an educational
outreach program designed for introduction, immersion, and education
of the hearing community regarding the world of the Deaf and its
language and culture.
Thank you for visiting the Rhode Island Silent Camp Website. We are a non-profit organization that sponsors a weekend for deaf activity, education and awareness, located at Camp Watchaug in Charlestown, RI. The weekend is a fun-filled experience of No-Voice, where you will stay in tents in the woods, engage in activities and games with new friends, and be able to improve your ASL skills. Also, if needed, you may obtain or renew your CEU from RI RID. Silent Camp is for adults only, 18 and up. Please feel free to explore our site and contact us with any questions or comments you may have.
